Lloyd Research has released a gang programming solution for programming both the flash and OTP versions of these popular processors in QFP using their L9000 modular gang programmer.
The L9000 mainframe can be fitted with one or two socket modules for gang programming eproms, flash and a wide range of micro controllers. Each module is fitted with typically two or four sockets so up to eight devices can be gang programmed. There are about 70 family modules so the programmer is not dedicated to any one manufacturer of semiconductors.
The PL364 module has four clamshell ZIF sockets for programming the OTP version whilst the PL366 supports the flash version.
These modules are far more robust than crude socket adaptors which plug into DIL sockets and in many cases more cost effective.
