Lloyd Research has recently released further support for gang programming Motorola's 908 family of processors in a variety of different packages. All programming modules can be fitted to any M9000 or L9000 gang programmer. This means that up to eight devices can be gang programmed if two modules are fitted.

For example, the PL760/4 module has four 64 pin QFP sockets for programming Motorola 68HC908AZ60(A)s or 68HC908AB32s. The user can select which sections of the four parts of the device to program. It is also possible to read or erase previously programmed parts.

Programming times are very quick. For example, up to eight SOIC 68HC908JK3 can be blank checked, programmed and verified in about 15 seconds.

Most of these socket modules are available from stock or within a very short lead time of one to two weeks.

Existing programmers can be fitted with a software update to handle these new devices.
